Centrica battery storage
Centrica Business Solutions has secured the development rights for a fully consented 30MW battery storage plant in Dyce, near Aberdeen. The 30MW 2hr battery storage plant will store enough energy to power 70,000 homes for an hour, with discharge occurring up to four hours per day1. Once connected to the grid in 2028, the 65MW two-hour battery will be able to store enough electricity to power 130,000 homes for an hour2. The battery installed at Brigg represents the largest investment in storage capacity Centrica has made to date. It will have the capacity to store 100MWh of electric energy, equivalent to a full day’s energy consumption for around 15 per cent of the homes in North Lincolnshire3.
As the photovoltaic (PV) industry continues to evolve, advancements in Centrica battery storage have become critical to optimizing the utilization of renewable energy sources. From innovative battery technologies to intelligent energy management systems, these solutions are transforming the way we store and distribute solar-generated electricity.
